Guide to donating via bank wire or cryptocurrency, with FAQs and support steps.

Your contribution supports TZLA Club as a tax-exempt private membership association. This guide addresses common questions and scenarios during the contribution process.

Available Contribution Methods

1. Bank Wire Transfer

Process:

  • Through the TZLA Open House process, you will be invited to complete the Full Membership Request Form
  • After submission, we will send you all necessary details to finalize your donation; which will include the wire transfer details if you choose this method.
  • Before sending a wire transfer we recommend notifying your bank of your intent to avoid delays/freezes.
  • Initiate transfer through your bank
  • Allow 1-3 business days for processing
  • Important: Weekend and holiday banking delays are common

What to expect:

  • You will receive confirmation once the contribution is received
  • Processing times vary by financial institution
  • International transfers may take longer

2. Cryptocurrency

Why cryptocurrency?

  • Faster processing than traditional banking
  • Works when banks decline wire transfers
  • Increasingly common contribution method for members

For crypto beginners:

Common Scenarios & Solutions

🏦 "My bank refused/declined my wire transfer"

This happens occasionally, and we're here to help.

Banks sometimes block wire transfers to organizations like ours, even though everything is completely legitimate.

Solution:

  • If using the release letter doesn’t solve the problem, contact support to proceed with your donation using crypto as an alternative.
  • We'll set up a private support group for cryptocurrency guidance
  • Beginner-friendly, step-by-step instructions provided
  • Direct support throughout the entire process

🤔 "I've never used cryptocurrency before"

You're not alone!

Many members join with zero cryptocurrency experience.

What we provide:

  • Simple, beginner-friendly guidance
  • Step-by-step instructions for your first crypto transaction
  • Examples of the safest and easiest platforms to use
  • Direct support from the team throughout the process
  • Answers to any questions, no matter how basic

How it works:

  1. Contact Member Support and mention you need crypto guidance
  1. We'll create a private support group for you
  1. Verify that the admins of your private support group are also admins of the Open House group. Beware of imposters who use fake Telegram accounts that look real.
  1. Follow step-by-step instructions at your own pace
  1. Ask questions anytime — the team is there to help

Success rate: We've guided hundreds of crypto beginners successfully. You're in excellent hands.


🌍 "I'm contributing from outside the US — currency confusion"

Common questions:

  • "Is the contribution amount in USD or my local currency?"
  • "What exchange rate should I use?"

Solution:

  • All contribution amounts are denominated in USD
  • Check current exchange rates before initiating transfer
  • Factor in potential bank conversion fees
  • Contact Member Support if you need clarification on the exact amount

📧 "I sent my contribution but haven't received confirmation"

Timeline expectations:

  • Bank wire transfers: 1-3 business days (longer for international)
  • Cryptocurrency: Usually same-day, sometimes within hours
  • Weekend/holiday transfers: May experience delays

If your crypto donation is not confirming, check for these common issues first:

  • The donation page expired before the transfer was completed
  • The amount sent was below the set amount
  • The wrong crypto network was used (e.g. sending on a different chain than specified)

Review your transaction against the list above. If none of these apply, or if you need help resolving one of them, reach out to Member Support with:

  • The cryptocurrency and network you used
  • Date and time of your transaction
  • Transaction ID or hash (if available)

Confirmation process: Once your contribution is received and processed, you will receive confirmation from the Member Support team.


"I sent a wire transfer on Friday — why no confirmation yet?"

Weekend banking reality:

Banks typically do not process transfers over weekends or holidays.

Expected timeline:

  • Friday transfer → Likely processes Monday
  • Holiday transfer → Processes next business day
  • Add 1-2 additional days for organizational processing

No need to worry — your contribution is in the banking queue and will be confirmed once processed.
